Conscious Incompetence

You are great.

You are so great, you might even care about the world and think that the Bush administration is filled with a bunch of idiots.

It seems like they should be stupid... how could they not be stupid considering all the dumb things that have taken place?

Consider the notion of conscious incompetence - making a conscious decision to appear incompetent in order to mask your true intentions.

What if most everything in Iraq is going exactly as the US planned?

Seems a bit far-fetched I know, but think about it for a second:

-We know that the administration wanted to go into Iraq before 9-11 happened

-We also know from PNAC that they want to remain in the region and establish a permanent military and economic presence there.

So... invading a country is not a nice thing to do if you are supposedly a peaceful nation. If your intention is to establish permanent bases in a region of the world that's rich in oil and and a geopolitically strategic area to be in... its not easy to accomplish this objective without the entire world thinking you are the evil empire.

As dumb as you may think these guys are - they knew that these 3 factions (sunnis, shiite, kurds) would erupt into violence with each other once we came in. This is one of the oldest military strategy in the book: "Divide & Conquor".

but they were able to fool billions of people largely through 2 brilliant moves:

1. Elect a president who has stupidity and incompetence oozing out his pours to serve as the face of the corporation.

2. Pull an elaborate stunt that proves that you are incompetent, a stunt so huge and foolish it would be guaranteed to make you look like a buffoon for all of the Late Night TV jokers to ridicule.

The stunt?:

"Mission Accomplished!"

"Mission Accomplished" has officially given them the seal of incompetence.

go check out some of those resumes in the Kings court, these are not idiots, you will be hard pressed to find a dunce in the group that does not have the initials GWB.

These are all criminals not idiots.

The irony of it all is that "Mission Accomplished!" is absolutely correct and true. They did in fact accomplish their mission of creating chaos and a permanent presence.

People just haven't grasped what the Mission originally was.

And they are laughing at you from their ranches and mansions.
